How it was made
I Started out by lighting the scene well. This plant was a stand-in for props.
…Tried Several poses…
Jasper decided to help out also.
We set up some books
…and threw some books.
The books that are on the desk, are the same ones in the air. We threw the books into the air, and I used a high-speed flash to capture the book, mid-air.
LayeringSeveral shots of the subject were done. We tried several poses.
The few books we had that were really old, and we didn’t mind getting damaged… were stacked up, photographed… and then re-stacked in another oder and photographed again in a new location. If you look carefully, some of these stacks are identical too. These were layered in to give the appearance of more books than we had.
